......... Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation .........

Last week I was at my local CVS when I came across this new foundation from Wet n Wild, the name photofocus caught my attention after reading the claims and for only a $6.95 price. I decided to give it a try.

Your skin, only better. Our new high performing, skin perfecting foundation underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions to deliver flawless camera ready makeup every time. Specially made with a matte, light diffusing complex to give your skin #nofilter perfectcion.

Looking at the different shades they had in the store I decided that the closest match for my skin tone was the shade Golden beige which is a medium shade with warm undertones. It has a liquid consistency with a straight medium coverage. It has a matte finish at first but as the day pasts by and my natural oils come to the surface ( I will say about 5 hours after application), it gets more like a dewy finish. The application I tried to apply it with was a foundation brush and a beauty sponge. I found out that if you want to get the medium coverage it is better to apply it with a kabuki brush but if you want to get more of a light coverage it is better to use the beauty blender. This is because it takes some of the coverage away.  The claims about being a perfect foundation to take pictures with I totally agree with. It looks beautiful in pictures and does not have a flash back. Also it looks very natural in person. I have to set this foundation with powder after application because it doesn't dry out completely and it has a slight tacky sensation. Therefore if you don't set it, it will transfer. It does not emphasize my pores or fine lines and does not oxidize on me. It still looks good after 10 hours of wearing it. It comes in a glass jar with a twist top and a spatula applicator. I wish it came with a pump because it is more handy, hygienic, and also the product will not be exposed directly to the air everytime you open the bottle which can affect the expiration date and texture of the product. If you are sensitive to fragances this foundation has a paint smell to it but it fades after a couple of minutes so it wasn't a big deal for me. They have 20 different shades. Overall I was very happy and surprised with the great performance of this foundation. It is worth to give it a try more for its great price and performance.

........ L'oreal Paris Makeup Recent Favorites .......

Hi lovely's I hope you guys are having an amazing day! I had the great opportunity to try some Loreal Paris Makeup products and on this post I am including the ones that worked for me and I keep reaching out for.

First,  I have combination to dry skin type. This is a medium to full coverage foundation and the consistency is just perfect, not too thick and not too runny. It has a demi/matte finish and when I use it I don't need to set it with a powder. This foundation is a dream come true for those with oily to combination skin.  I have worn this foundation as long as 12 hours and after that it is amazing how good it looks and I can see how it really helps to control my natural oils from coming out to the surface. If you have dry patches make sure you moisturize and exfoliate your skin first since it will accentuate dry patches. I found out that it applies better with a beauty sponge. I love how flawless and natural my skin looks. It lasts all day without transferring all over the place or melting off. This foundation comes in a total of 12 shades.

This liquid foundation has a light to medium coverage with a radiant finish and SPF 15. In winter my skin is always so dry so I have being using this foundation alot since it gives my skin that radiant glow that I love. I really like that even though it has a SPF in it, it doesn't give a flashback on pictures. This foundation feels more lightweight and it is also much more thinner in consistency than the matte version. I will say this foundation would work better for those who have normal to dry skin and also for mature skin since it adds that nice youthful look and healthy glow back to
the skin. Both foundations apply flawlessly and evenly and they come in a squeeze plastic tube. This foundation comes in 12 shades as well.

Two weeks ago I decided to mix the 2 foundations together and OMG! I just created the perfect foundation in consistency and staying power. The result is a medium coverage foundation with a natural look but still fights oils. I achieved that beautiful dewy finish without looking greasy and I didn't even need to blot. The best part is that you can get a custom level of dewyness. Have you ever tried to mix them together?

The formula of the eyeshadows in this quad is velvety soft and pigmented. Each palette has a perfect combination of colors that includes everything you need for a full eye look, very little fall out, and they blend beautifully together without effort. The texture reminds me of my high end shadows. They can be worn wet or dry. The colors included in this purple palette are so bright and fun to play with. This palette is so unique in my collection since I don't have anything like it. The package is a well made, hard plastic.  I love how compact it is which makes it travel friendly. Each palette includes on the back a picture description on how to use each color which is great. They have a total of 8 quads to choose from.

I have them in the shades 300 Blushing Ambition and 304 Rebel Rose. The pigmentation of these glosses is just insane, one swipe gives you an even full color pay off on your lips. The pigmentation looks more like a liquid lipstick than a gloss which is amazing and what I love the most about them is that they have a very comfortable smooth/light weight almost like a moussey texture. They have a light berry scent. They dry out to a semi matte finish about 2 minutes after application. They are not transfer proof so you have to reapply them throughout the day. They leave behind a subtle stain, the wear time for me is about 4 hours depending on how often and what type of food I eat or drink. They come in a clear slim package that shows you the true color of the lip gloss you are getting inside. They have a tear drop applicator that makes the application super easy and precise, it allows you to outline your lips perfectly. They have a total of 10 shades from nudes to bright tones.

I used a combination of the Infallible Pro Matte Foundation in 104 and the Infallible Pro Glow Foundation in the shade 203. I am also wearing the Infallible Pro Matte Gloss in the shade 304 Rebel Rose.

. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water .

I needed a new micellar water since I ran out of the one I normally use that is from Bioderma. While I was at target I came across the new ones from Garnier so I decided to buy them. I was curious to see how well they would perform, especially because I always wear waterproof mascara and eye liner. Below are my thoughts.

What is a Micellar Water?

Micellar water is made up of miceller (tiny balls of cleansing oil/glycerine molecules) suspended in soft water. The idea is that the micelles are attracted to dirt and oil so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin and you don't need to rinse it off. Micellar water is used to remove makeup and it is a facial wash. Micellar water also provides moisture to the skin due to the glycerine and moisturizing ingredients that are in it.

My Thoughts about them

At first I really didn't have much expectation about them but I was wrong. They are amazing! The differences between them is that the one with the blue cap removes even waterproof mascara and the one with the pink cap is most recommended if you have sensitive skin. My favorite one is the one with the blue cap because it removes every speck of makeup, even the most stubborn waterproof mascara, eye liner, and matte lipsticks gently and quickly without scrubbing. This means no irritation. In those days when my skin is super dry I like to use it to clean my skin prior to applying my makeup and my skin feels so clean, fresh, and with that extra moisture. The best part is there isn't any breaking out or oily sensation. Each bottle contains 13.5 fl oz and I paid $6.99 for each one which is a great price for an amazing quality product. I will repurchase and I am totally recommending them.

These Garnier Micellar Waters are formulated without Oil, Alcohol, or Fragance.

.................... Jay Manuel Beauty Haul ................

I was watching HSN and Jay Manuel Beauty caught my attention after seeing how their products perform on some of their models. I decided to buy them and put them to the test. Below is a full description and my thoughts about them.

Their Product Description

Luxurious  quartet of eyeshadows expertly coordinated to create looks as unique as the women who wear them. Intensely pigmented color in perfect finishes create distinctive looks.

My Thoughts

When I saw the combination of colors included in this palette I can see myself creating day and night time looks with it. This eyeshadow quad has 2 shimmers, 1 satin and 1 matte shades. All of the colors work great together. The colors are very pigmented. Each eyeshadow has a silky, smooth formula and they blend super easy with very little fall out. The package is very sturdy and well made and it feels expensive. I like that it is travel friendly and includes a good size mirror to use on the go. Overall, I am very happy with my choice. On the HSN site they have 3 different quads but if you go directly to the Jay Manuel site, they have 11 different options. Each quad contains .05 oz and costs $24.

Swatches left to right
1) Purple shimmery with a dark charcoal base. 2) Cream gold shimmery. 3) Matte dark coppery/brown. 4) Satin dark navy blue.

Eye Look I created using this palette

I used the 3 darkest shades on the outer corner of my eyes for intensity and the lightest shade on the lid, inner corner on the eyes, and on the brow bone for brightening out the look. On the lower lash line I use brown shade.

Their Products Description

This foundation is that it is a multi-functional silicone based liquid makeup enriched with micronized silk and plant based antioxidants. Like a second skin filtered veil, it creates an optical illusion of perfection. Hydrates, primes and evens skin tone and texture in one step, while camouflaging imperfections for flawless finish. Medium full buildable coverage. Does not settle into fine lines and pores.

My thoughts

This is a thick medium coverage foundation that dries to a matte powder finish. The consistency is very creamy and glides on easily. I have combination skin, T zone oily and some dry areas around my mouth and cheek area. This foundation settled into my fine lines, pores, dry patches, and overly dried skin.  It also doesn't provide a natural finish, it looks cakey on me. I really wanted to make it work so I used it with and without primer. I also used it with and without face powder but it just didn't work for me. When I used the primer it looked a little bit better but there wasn't much difference. I will say this foundation may work for people with oily skin because I noticed that in my T zone area it ended looking better than on the rest of my face. I do like the package since it is very unique. It is hard plastic but the clear part on the top is like a soft jelly/plastic that you squeeze to get the product out. Wear time I will say is about 6 to 8 hours. They have 12 different shades from light to deep complexions. Each tube contain 0.89 fl oz and costs $38.00.

Have you ever tried Jay Manuel products before, if yes, which one? Thank you so much for reading! ^_^

Dollar Store Beauty Must Haves Summer Haul

Hi everyone! I hope you guys are having an amazing day. Today's post is about my dollar store haul from June/July, the products listed here are great, some of these no matter the $1 price tag are hidden gems that you maybe want to give them a try. Keep in mind that every Dollar Store carries different products. I bought mine at my local Dollar Tree.

It was a pleasant surprise how pigmented this single eyeshadow is. I like using this shade to set my eye primer. It is a perfect base for any eye look you want to create since it has a matte finish and is that perfect skin color, the texture is very smooth. It is a bit powdery. I am looking forward to buying  more shades.

The formulation of these lip products are very creamy and nourishing. They glide on super smooth and deliver a great pigmentation. The Fergie Daily is a perfect nude, Pink Ice is a rose/pink shade with subtle shimmer/frost in it, and the willow lipliner will be the perfect pair to combine with any nude lipstick. They last on my lips for around 3 to 4 hours.

Swatches left to right are Fergie Daily, Pink Ice, and Lip liner in Willow

This lip balm is one of my favorites! I like the color payoff and the emollient feeling, non sticky at all, and they have good pigmentation. The only con will be the pot packaging since it can be too messy for my liking but I usually apply them with a lip brush. Grape fruit is a coral shade with reddish undertones and nude is a beige toned shade with peach undertones. Overall I would highly recommend this to a friend and they are totally worth the $1 dollar price.

This cream eyeshadow glides on my eye lids very easily and  you can use it by itself or as a base to intensify your powder shadows. Once they set they don't move anywhere and it doesn't leave a tacky feeling as some cream eyeshadows do. The lasting power is about 9 hours without retouching. I also used it as an eyeliner. This was the only shade they had at that time but I definitely want to try the other shades. This shade is a coppery brown with a shimmer in it.

This works as a lip stain and it has a creamy texture. Just make sure to exfoliate and hydrate your lips before applying it because they can be a little dry. They transfer but the lip cream pigments are so intense in color that it will last you for a long time. Also when the color wears off they leave a stain behind. This shade is a neon pink, perfect for summer! :)

The formula is more on the thick side but very comfortable to wear and I like this lip gloss because it is not sticky at all. It has a doe foot applicator that holds a good amount of product. The glitter in it is very subtle and not chuncky at all. Leaves my lips with a beautiful shiny finish. It stays on me for about 3 hours with light drinking and eating. For being a lip gloss it has a good pigmentation. The shade I have is a pretty and natural plum/berry with blue undertones which makes my teeth look more white.

Swatches left to right are Milani Lip Intense Liquid Color in Fiery Coral and Crystal Gloss in Raspberry Icing

My Anti-Age 4 Steps PM Skincare Routine PRAI Beauty

Hi lovely's! I often get questions about my skincare routine. I change my skin care routine depending on the season and my skin's special needs as I age.  In summer my skin tends to be much more oily and during the winter time it tends to be very dry and sensitive. If you care about your skin care routine or maybe you are looking to try some new products, please keep reading! The products I'm including in today's post are the ones I use in PM time since they are made with concentrated ingredients that help me with wrinkles, dark spots, scars, and dark circles. Also, keep in mind to always read the expiration dates of the products that you are using and that is also another reason how I rotate or try new skin care products. Make sure to follow the proper instructions that come with them as well.

After using my regular cleanser (Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser) I proceed to follow my skin routine by applying the products below in this order ( I also did my own research about some of the active ingredients in these products):

STEP 2)

This is known for being sleeping beauty for your skin. Some of the active ingredients in this highly concentrated serum are Chronocyclin that helps reduce the appearance of age while optimizing skin's natural recovery cycle at night, white truffle extract that is full of animo acids and nutrients that fully hydrates and plumps the skin, and dry champagne extract contains resveratrol rich in antioxidants that gives a more even skin tone and helps reduce inflamation and redness. I can see a huge improvement on my skin after using this serum every night for 6 weeks, my skin looks more healthy and plump with less wrinkles and it helped me improve the appearance of some dark acne scars I had on my forehead and cheeks. It has the same smooth consistency as a serum, not sticky, absorbs quickly, and it has a slight rose scent that fades after seconds. I use one pump for my face and another one for my neck. As a personal preference I don't apply a face cream because this serum gives me all the moisture my skin needs.

STEP 3)

Some beauty professionals don't think that we need separate products for the eye area but I disagree because in my own personal case, my under eye area is the most dry part on my entire face and I know for sure that I need extra moisture there. Before I was introduced to this eye concentrate, I had to moisturizer my under eye area several times a day but when I'm using this concentrate I just have to do it 2 times (In the morning with this eye serum concentrate and at night time with the 24 K gold Oil listed below). When I apply this just after I wake up my eyes don't look as puffy as before and my dark circles look less noticeable. I will say it is due to some of the ingredients in it like SYN EYE that is a special peptide that improves fine lines and smoothes the delicate skin eye area, CAFFEINE that is a natural anti-irritant that aids in clearing up dark circles, and PRAI OIL that deeply moisturizes the skin for a long time. The texture is difficult to explain because while it is liquidy and lightweight it adds a fresh and hydrating sensation to that area. It is unscented and it comes in a glass jar with a drop applicator.

STEP 4)

I dab a small drop of this oil under my eye area every night since it is my most problematic and dry area. Also when I have some crazy skin days and I have very dry skin on my neck area or my hands I use these Oils which super moisturize. I would highly recommend it if you have super dry skin because while it is very rich it absorbs quickly into the skin and is also lightweight so it doesn't leave that greasy sensation that others do. I also add one drop of this oil to my foundation when I want to sheer out the formula and have a more natural/flawless finish plus I get the skin care benefits in it. 24k gold which, as we know, helps skin maintain it's healthy collagen and as a final result helps us look visibly younger and more radiant.
